![]() ![]() No amount of words can do this album (and "Mystic Stylez", of course) justice for just how much innovative shit was laid down.Ī lot of these newer hip-hop heads can listen to "Illmatic", "Enter the Wu-Tang", etc, and think "Man, some of my favorite rappers grew up listening to this", but one listen of this album will (and, like I said before, of course "Mystic Stylez") will leave newer hip-hop heads going "oh fuck, so THAT'S where that flow/style/etc came from?" because this album is still, directly or indirectly, having elements of it being emulated in so many forms today. I was thinking about typing out something really long, praising this album for all the ways that it influenced hip-hop (especially trap) to come, and how so much of this SoundCloud scene shit can be traced back to old Three 6 Mafia, but man. ![]()
